The Flash Premiere Review: The Flash Reborn
And Barry is back. As expected.
That was my basic reaction throughout almost the entire premiere. I mean, we knew The Flash would be returning of course, so like, can we please focus on more important matters? Please??
Like Caitlin’s multiple personalities. Again! And here I was after the season 2 finale thinking our girl would finally get a chance to blend her two sides together. Seems I couldn’t be more wrong! Despite her reassurances to Cisco, the Killer Frost part of her still seems to come into control once in a while. Unlike last season though, Caitlin Snow seems to be putting up a good enough fight to keep her in check. Still, that’s an ice bomb waiting to go off.
And, yay! Cisco has fully ‘Vibed’ up! Was cool seeing him fully in the streets fighting the fight. And his one-liners were just perfect, as usual! ‘Great Ceasar’s Ghost’? Really, Cisco??
Iris, on the other hand? Well, I know she’s in mourning and all, but... I just have to say, that girl’s crazy! What was that?! Going out to Samuroid? On a wish?? And boy, did she take charge of Star Labs. I almost said ‘Yes, Boss’ along with Cisco. On her crazy death wish though, was it just me, or did it seem like Barry knew something about that beforehand? Wasn’t he saying to Joe a few minutes before the incident ‘You know her, always running toward danger?’
In fact, let’s talk about Barry and the strange circumstances around his return. I mean, what kind of sorcery was that? The Nonsensical mad zombie suddenly turned into the Barry Allen we know and love in what, a split second? And all the season 1 references. At first I thought they were just Easter Eggs but after that statement to Joe, I had a rethink. What if he was trying to send a message? Is the Barry we have now really Barry? Is he in control or is something else (like the Speed Force) directing his actions? Certainly he’s lying about something... Joe might be convinced, but I’m not!
And lastly... tell me Wally did not just speak Japanese?
