Journey to the unknown #1. The first acquaintance with the planet
Prologue.
A clear, warm morning. Gently whispering surf. I lie, with my eyes closed, on the ocean and enjoy peace.
As good as it is now, I have not been there for a long time.
The tension of the last days has retreated somewhere, anxious thoughts have gone away. And, at the end of the day, it is necessary sometimes that my brains are rested, they let in fresh thoughts, new ideas.
Moreover, not everything is as bad as a result something happened.
Yes, my ship crashed, and I'm somewhere on the edge of God's forgotten galaxy, but!
The planet proved to be quite suitable for life, with air close in composition to the earthly, warm climate, outlandish plant and animal world.
I, as a biologist who got on the spaceship "Orion", headed to a distant planet located at a distance of 500 years in the constellation "Swan", and by its properties and living conditions close to our Earth, it would be extremely interesting to study new species of flora and faunas never before seen and described by scientists of our planet ...
Only here is the question, but will ever find me and my records, for whom I will do this ...
I do not even know at what point Our trip was a disaster, which specifically brought about me in my personal capsule in which I was supposed to sleep until the end of our mission, but the alarm system worked, I was thrown first into space, and then I landed safely on the planet. One ...
What happened to the rest of the crew, unfortunately, I did not know ... That's why I decided to put my thoughts in order, after having relaxed, tuned to the fact that it would be very, very important for me to stay in this place long, perhaps, until the end of my days.
Therefore, it is necessary to build some thread plans and their existence, and classes, which I will have to brighten up my loneliness.
Although ..., I do not even know yet whether this planet is inhabited or not. Perhaps there are living beings endowed with reason who will be friendly to me, and I can even get friends here.
Well, cannot a planet with such a magnificent climate, so similar to my home Earth, be uninhabited!
It's decided, I'll start exploring it tomorrow, I'll walk along the ocean coast, visiting the surrounding areas.
The first acquaintance with the planet.
The night passed fairly calmly. Rare clouds floated through the dark lilac sky, at times closing off from me unknown stars and constellations. Everything was also quietly and tenderly whispering surf, and only in nearby coastal line, there were occasional sounds from time to time.
Fatigue and nervous tension did their work, and I, without paying any attention to it, fell asleep until I was awakened by the warm rays of the sun and the screams of a bird, something that looked like our earthly tea, above the water. Looking closer, I noticed that in the place over which she circled, splashed fish.
Remembering that for a long time I had not eaten anything, I took out of my bag the remains of a dry emergency ration and a flask of water.
"We need to get to the rescue capsule and see what's useful can be found and transferred to the shore, until it sank," I thought lazily. "Okay, I'll just grab a bite and go, but let's start looking around."
After my, more than modest, breakfast, I reached the capsule on the water and looked inside. Fortunately, the ocean water did not hit the capsule. Among other supplies, I found, to my great surprise, a folding tourist tent, a small supply of fresh water, a few biscuits and canned food, a lighter and a battery. And I was pleased that I found a laptop computer, however, as far as its charging is enough, I do not know, but there may be some way out. It is known that there are no desperate situations.
In general, while the point is yes, I left on the road far in the afternoon. It was easy to walk along the coastal fine sand of some gray color. Sometimes it came across shells of an unprecedented form before me. I collected them, thinking at leisure to study their structure in more detail and to understand what animals lived in them.
Approximately in a couple of kilometers of the way, the forest began to come closer to the shore, and I ventured to go into it. The birds sang quite pleasantly, some of them I could see - bright, colorful feathers, the shape of the head, beak, tail - in principle, nothing special at first glance in them was not. Fear, they did not cause, rather, the curiosity of the natural scientist. But most of all I am currently interested in plants, or rather, their fruits.
For me it was extremely important to determine which of them are edible, and which are not, however, I did not have the instruments for research, it was dangerous to do this, it was only necessary to observe what fruits are used for bird food. This method, of course, is also imperfect, because what could be useful for the inhabitants of this planet may well prove to be a poison for me.
But there was nothing to do, we had to take risks.
It should be noted that many plants were painfully similar to terrestrial, almost with the same fruits. In particular, I noticed fruits similar to our peaches, only a little larger.
Noticing how small birds circling them, almost like our hummingbirds, and digging into the tender skin of the fruit with their proboscis, I could not stand it, tore off one of the fruits and slightly bit it.
Unexpectedly, I felt an unprecedented bliss, my mouth filled with the sweetest juice. The flesh was also tender and sweet to the taste.
I collected as much as possible of these fruits, I ate a few pieces right away, took the rest with me.
Who knows, when I find something else edible along the road, and at least some kilometers of the shore and this line I should have examined.
Until now, I still do not know how often there are rains, and what they are by intensity.
Yes, and I hoped that I will be able to find someone from the reasonable inhabitants of this planet.
Far from it, however, I did not leave. Apparently, there was something in this strange fruit, but after a while I suddenly felt some weight in the whole body, the consciousness began to fog, and at that moment it suddenly seemed to me that I heard behind someone's cautious steps and low whisper.
I turned, but saw no one. Shaking my shoulders in bewilderment, I continued on my way, but after a few steps I heard again the same incomprehensible, indistinct sounds and decided not to pay any attention to them.
Nevertheless, the feeling that someone is watching me, appearing once, did not pass, but, on the contrary, with each step intensified.
Suddenly, literally next to me, a branch cracked loudly. I turned abruptly at this sound, and suddenly the light went out in my eyes ...
