A Royal Strategy
"Good morning, my Queen."...."Good day and good fighting my King.
"We are alive to fight another day, now let us activate our plan," said the Queen
The king sent his messengers to the soldiers in the field.
The soldiers quickly got in position, ready to do battle to protect the throne, with a deeper knowing that at all cost the Queen must live.
As the enemy came across the field, the front line braced themselves for battle.
Some moved straight ahead, charging towards the enemy with all their might.
Soldiers three rows back, scattered; some moving left and some moving right.
Indeed it was a mighty strategic fight.
Many of the King's soldiers were killed or captured
And as the final round of battle ensued, one last victory at day's end they pursued.
More troops were deployed, to fortify the throne and keep alive the Queen. The mission was accomplished by rows upon rows of the most elite royal military regime.
Then word reached the palace, and throughout the land, it spread, that the king was feared dead.
Bloody, and bruised the soldiers hung their heads in the agony of defeat. All hope was lost it seemed.
Yet, hours after a time of mourning, for their fearless ruler had been decreed, the king rode in gallantly shouting," the king of our enemy lay dead in the fields and I have captured the enemy Queen."
And all the people rejoiced as they shedded their sackcloth of mourning. For many miles, you could hear the people shout and sing, "Our mighty King has returned to the throne and now he reigns Supreme!"
The Bishops, the Knights, and all the King's men became heroes in a way because they kept the Queen alive and they all survived to fight another day.
Now, returning to their respective strategic spaces, where in reality they are all pawns in the Game.
On a chessboard, they exist, standing tall, yet frozen in a painted brass and nickel plated, solitude,
Patiently waiting, to be once again activated,
Totally dependent on outside players showing up to play the game and make them move.

As the new morning dawn appears,
The Royal figure heads open their eyes once again,
As they come alive in this twilight zone, menagerie of a dream, greeting each other as usual,
"Good morning my Queen." "Good day and good fighting, My King."
