A Freedom Fighter (Fiction)

This is a work of fiction. (Nearly) all similarities to real people or events are based solely on imagination.

One more time. One more time he checked his preparations. Everything was ready.
He had meticulously planned every step, got the weapons, learned where the unbelievers met at regular intervals, when they met and how to best approach them.

It had taken him some time to come to the conclusion, but now it was as clear as the words of God: He had to kill those who opposed the only true God, as it was written in the holy scripture. It was the only way he had left.

He was not the first to come to this conclusion, but alas, he would surely make his fight memorable for generations to come! All the humiliation, all the injuries his people received by their hands would be repayed!

He was sure he would not survive this. But that was okay. If he only took ten of the heathens with him, he would win. Others would see his example and act upon it. The rest was math, pure, simple numbers. He would die, but his death would be a step to victory. He would offer their and his lives to prove his faith in God. And heaven would be his price!

He loaded the guns and stepped out of his house. In less then one hour the whole world would know his name and of his holy mission. Fear would be struck into the hearts of the unbelievers!

This morning at 10:23 a 24-year old male drove a truck into a mosque in Chattanooga, Tennessee, killing 12 people and severely injuring dozens more. More then 20 are still fighting for their life.
The driver drove right into the regular prayer and when his truck stopped he got off and started firing with an automatic rifle, only stopping to shout “For God! For Jesus!”
Leaders of Islamic countries have condemned the attack, some calling for air strikes on churches where it is known that Christians get radicalized.
