The Magic Gatway part 2.
I’d been back from the Western Front for just over twelve months, it was the year 1920 and I couldn’t live with what I’d seen. The horror of what we had lived through was too much so I headed out into the woods to end the nightmares and guilt of those days. It was then that I met the Lady and she took me to a place that healed my broken soul. She led me though the archway and then through the mists to a place of wonder where I would spend centuries learning a new truth. During the war I’d been a doctor treating the wounded, I watched as young men were brought in front of me with their bodies ripped apart, seen rats eat at the wounds of the injured as they waited to be treated. I came home just as broken as those I had cut limbs off.
On the Isles of Glass I learned to move past the horror and to again learn to live. I didn’t really know or follow the passage of time but many people taught me what I needed to know and with the passing seasons I began to know more of where I had gone to.
It was a few years before I was taken from the teaching rooms to the outside and I saw my first dragon, a large red creature that looked down at me with an ancient wisdom I could never understand. The Isles of Glass had two resident dragons, one red and one white but others would fly in at times and all were large, far larger than any animal I’d ever seen. As I stayed in this new and strange land I was taught of the old ways, of times before the accepted history of the islands of what is now Great Britain. The Lady who had brought me to this land I saw only rarely but as I began to show an aptitude for my studies an old man by the title of Merlin took over in teaching me. It wasn’t the same Merlin as the one from the legends but he had been taught by him. Time in the Isle of Glass ran differently to that of our world and I didn’t age the same way those still in my old world did.

STOPCool! I've been waiting for this, too - and I suppose now I'll have to wait for tomorrow for the next part, lol. It's definitely worth the wait, and I'm intrigued!
That's if I get chance tonight to write some more tonight, and the words flow of course.
Great pic...........
