Food Fight Friday

Pretty rough day for me here but i wanted to get this out for my peeps.

The other day @Cleopatra54 and i didn't feel like cooking dinner which is pretty rare as we dont eat out often. Theres a place thats been around for awhile and weve never tried it. So we decided to give it a try.

I grew up working in mom n pop pizzerias so very little impresses me around here. Id actually love to open a shop and take down all these puny, expensive, crap tasting places that call themselves pizzerias.

Well, we ordered, went to pick up, brought it back home and ate it. Ehh it was ok but not impressed. Never liked there name, the pizza was tiny, it cost $18 and taste was just ok. Nothing to brag about but it did the job.

The pic makes it look way bigger than it was. Probably a hair bigger than a shoe box.

Large deep dish w meatballs, pepperoni & banana peppers (our favorite toppings) and not enough sauce. It made the "ok" list. Enjoy

OK, "let's get Jet's" isn't too bad... but that pie is definitely lacking sauce.

IMHO, pizza has to be pretty bad to be 'bad' (like, you seriously have to try...), but a good/great pizza really has to be something special. Most pizza is 'meh...'

Yeah i here ya. Im not to impressed w most chain restaurants in general. But i do really appreciate a great pizza. We took alot of pride making pizzas at the places ive worked and theres a few things that can really make a pizza great. Id like to try an authentic Chicago style pizza next. I made one at my house from scratch in a cast iron skillet and it was pretty good but thats the only one i had so not sure what authentic is. Yay for pizza and thanks for stopping by @mattlovell :)

We love banana peppers on our pizza too. Granted our pizza choice toppings have changed over the years but bananas peppers have remained. Good call!

Awesome! We Love banana peppers, mmmm. We use to Love hot and spicy as well but nowadays its not happening. So anyway we ordered a calzone awhile back w banana peppers and were so excited because we haven't had one for ages. It finally arrives, we take a nice big bite lol and alls we tasted was Fire. Lol spicy spicy banana peppers, oh no! These banana peppers could have been ghost peppers geesh and they forgot to mention it.

Haha… something similar happened with our last Thai food experience… like we were eating the sun and no warning. Banana peppers are usually really mild, wonder what happened.

Too funny :p

They make hot ones also. lol i always forget. And they're hotter than most jalepenos 😯

I didn’t know they made hot ones- noted

Oh man there’s a joint in Knoxville, Tennessee called Pizza Palace. I first had pizza there about 8 years ago and have been back just a few times since but I make sure to stop when I’m in Tennessee. Everything else, after going to pizza palace, is just a bunch of stuff on dough.

Lol thats awesome! Looks like it was on diners dives and drives or w.e. that show is called. Ill have to check it out next time im in that area :). I use to live in the middle of nowhere in Tennessee :). Was nice for a time.
