Fortune Cookie Fortunes—Four Pack
Ah, Fortune Cookie Fortunes
Where have you been fortune cookie fortunes? It's not like I haven't been hitting Panda Express more or less once a week, thus getting a fortune each time, if not two.
I get it. Your track record hasn't really been all that great lately. Not since December, when you were pretty much dead on. So dead on, none of those have made it to a post, either. Never mind that. I'd rather you four be exposed anyway, so it's time for you to come out of hiding, and show the world what you've been promising me lately.
A Friend's Success Will Benefit You
Uh hunh. Yeah, right.
I've had you for a while, fortune cookie fortune number one, and I'm still waiting. Considering that there aren't that many people I can call friends to begin with, this is a pretty short list of folks to be waiting on. Second of all, even if some of those are having success, I'm not sure how that puts them in a position to benefit me. Nobody I know owns their own business to offer me a job or sits high enough on the corporate ladder to do it. Never mind to just throw money at me.
So, what's the angle here, fortune cookie fortune. How am I to benefit from someone else's success?
A Friend's Good Advice Will Deliver Great Joy
You guys really go after the friends, don't you, fortune cookie fortune 2: the sequel? Just like your companion, I'm supposed to get some great counsel that will make me exceedingly happy.
Well, so far, nothing has happened with this one, either. No one, friend or not, has been giving me any advice, let alone great joy.
Is there a statute of limitations on these things? I wonder how long I have to wait for the friends to show up with success and advice?
Proceed With Confidence
Now you, fortune cookie fortune numero tres, are somewhat of a puzzler. I mean, like a few others of your fellow fortune cookie fortunes, you kind of hit me where I live, you know? I've been wondering quite a bit lately if I should just give up on this STEEM gig. Every time I find a niche (after taking a while to get there), something happens, and I'm taking steps back instead of steps forward.
So, just as I'm sitting here believing it's time, at the very least, to pare down the hours I spend here, along comes you. Proceed with confidence.
See, you little scrips of paper don't get much more detailed than that, do you? I can think this is related to STEEM, when maybe it's not related to it at all. Maybe it has more to do with getting a job instead? Or maybe a number of things could come in to play, like moving, or something else. And yes, it's quite possible it has no bearing whatsoever, just like the friends who are going to help me somehow.
You, though, you're a little more subtle. You're not making any borderline outrageous claims, just a positive declaration to go forth with something steadfast in the knowledge that all will be well.
I think I'm calling you out, too, fortune cookie fortune.
It Would Be Good To Treat Yourself To Dessert
Of the four, and compared to many others I've received lately, you, fortune cookie fortune No. 4, hit the nail on the head. I should treat myself to dessert, early and often, and yes, it would definitely be good.
So good, I've followed your most hallowed advice a number of times. Actually, I didn't need any encouragement. Dessert isn't something I tend to refrain from if given the opportunity. I know, it's a good part of why I am the way I am. Never mind that. The counsel is sound. I believe in you.
I'm not sure if this counts as dessert or not. It's not really candy, but it seems too big for a snack, and it says it's a pie, so I'm calling it dessert.
Oh, sweet, sweet cherry pie, let me find success and joy in your niacin, riboflavin and folic acid. Maybe then, I will have the confidence I need to proceed.

"A friend's success will benefit you" which mean.. that friend will be no longer whining and disturbing my life so I can move forward to live my own life 😉 that's my benefit. Because money is not benefit but profit 😆.. so your fortune cookie is a nice guide to enjoy the luxury of being alive @glenalbrethsen 😉
Let me tell you the truth 😊 I've never had any cherry pie in my life..not even the a bite😊
Hey, @cicisaja.
Well, some cherry pie is pretty amazing. This one is okay. I don't think it's meant to be the best ever, so you're not missing out there. Besides, you have all kinds of desserts I've not tried, so it kind of makes us even.
re: a friend's success
Well, that's definitely one way to look at it. Anyone I could call a friend is in good financial condition, equal or better to mine, so I might be the one who looks like their whining. :) Anyway, there's a silver lining somewhere, and you're right, it doesn't need to be financial. I just haven't seen a whole lot of anything out of friends lately, regardless of what it is, which is why I was calling the fortune cookie fortune out. :)
Glimmers of hope we receive along the path of life! I often see them as signs but the reality is that nothing happens without us making it a reality; even having the dessert! Love this piece, thanks!

Glad you liked it @newageinv.
It's true—we definitely need to seize the opportunities ourselves, and sometimes we make our own, sometimes we know where to find them, and sometimes, like in this case, we're guided to them or they come to us. I like those the best. :)
Howdy again sir Glen! haha! those fortune cookies can be entertaining at least! they're all good news and very positive, especially the dessert one, that's a very meaningful one! lol.
Well, I suppose, @janton, that fortune cookies fortunes would be less popular if they were to come out with things like, You will hold a funeral for your cat in three days. :) Although, the way people are these days, it might just explode if the fortunes became more morbid.
It's been a while since I did one of these so I decided to dust it off and try again. I guess bashing fortunes is better for business. :)
Nice post. Love a line in your post that said your friend success will benefit you. This really touch me
I think nobody in his or her right mind would believe in the fortune cookie. And yet, we are all curious to see what it has to say. We dismiss it with disgust when it says something negative and are secretly pleased when it says something positive. Or maybe it was just me. :-)
No, @quotes-haven, that's not just you. That's exactly what happens with me, and thus, I would assume, with many others. I can't fully and totally accept it, but I do have to admit they get close, or happen to touch on topics that are important to me in a particular time and place. So, there's something to them, along with the entertainment value. :)
Glad to know it's not just me. :-)
Haha… why do you have to go so hard on the fortune cookies? They’re just trying to be friendly. The dessert one is spot on too. 1 out of 4 ain’t so bad 🤷🏼♀️ My Dad used to eat those little pies. He’d get almost every flavor, I didn’t know anyone else ate them. Thanks for the fond memory. Happy food fight @glenalbrethsen!
Hey, @puravidaville.
I've probably given too much credit to the fortune cookie fortunes I've received in the past and written about, much to the chagrin of a few people who thought I was off my rocker, when I was just trying to point out how sometimes those things can be uncanny in their timing. So, maybe this is bringing some balance? I don't know. :)
I've switched to the Franz brand of late because after Hostess was forced to split off or sell off some of their wares, their fruit pies have not been the same. I'm not sure if Franz took them over or what, but they tend to taste better. I generally get lemon, but it's been a while since I've had cherry so I decided to get it. I'll probably be going back to lemon again. :)
Haha… my Dad used to get lemon. He would every once in awhile get chocolate and various other flavors but lemon was always in our house. I never liked them until he passed and then I would eat one here and there just to feel like I had a piece of him with me. Very cool Glen!
Your fortune cookie perspective is great too. I’m just sayin 1 out of 4 ain’t bad 🤷🏼♀️ Although the dessert one is probably a safe bet for everyone known to man. Haha
Great to see you again @glenalbrethsen. I’m with you on the “a friends success will benefit you.” I think that one was supposed to be in the funny cookies, it’s the bakery across the street from fortune cookies.
😉
Hey, @dandays.
Or something like that. I've got another one here that says You will be surprised by a close friend. That one actually happened. He surprised me by being able to come over and watch the Oregon Ducks' bowl game. :) Usually when he thinks he won't be able to get off work to do something, he can't. This time he managed to do it. :)
I’m making some more rounds this morning, sir, congratulations on the reward from this one—happy Sunday! 👍🏿
I guess you never know, @dandays, what's going to happen. I go along making $0.25 to $0.40 and then someone comes along and decides to hit a post with a little more oomph. What's even better is, it wasn't a curie upvote, so that means there's a still a chance of one of those sometime this month. :)
I tried to figure out what people want, but then that usually means I'm not writing about anything I find entertaining, so it's going to be hit and miss this way, but at least I'll have stuff I had fun putting together. :)
