#FoodFightFriday: Rustic Romance
Dinner for two in Afton Canyon Natural Area, "the Grand Canyon of the Mojave." Just some New York steaks, a sprinkle of Montreal Steak seasoning, and that smoky flavor that only comes from an oakwood campfire. Served with a Southwest chopped salad packet.
This restaurant has the best ambiance, and overnight lodging is free!
Cinematic skyscapes at no extra charge, twice daily at dawn and dusk, as well as bonus screenings of the Milky Way on clear nights.

That mystery is a major part of the appeal of visiting Afton to me! I kept wandering the flat river bed hugging the cliffwalls, exploring the slots and shallow caves. A write up is coming soon :)

Very true! This place was carved in a matter of days by a breach in an ancient lake. Awesome feat of nature, turning destruction into raw beauty!
