That Time Again
Soon we are having our annual festival so we are getting ready. The feast is in recognition of St Paulinus of NOLA. It was brought here to Brooklyn from NOLA, Italy by Italian immigrants over 125 years ago. These photos are of the Giglio which means lily in Italian. The structure is carried through the day by approx. 125 men. It weighs 9000 pounds and is around 85 feet tall. Today we finished putting it together and is ready for Sunday, the first of three lifts days. Many of us look forward to this time of the year. Friends are reunited, especially the ones that moved away.
