Hakata Dontaku Festival
I went to Dontaku festival for the first time.
There held on May 3th and 4th in hakata in Fukuoka, and it is one of the biggest festival in Japan.I was surprised because there were a lot of people."Hakata Dontaku" has held since 1179(about 830 years!).
Many people has "Shamozi"(It likes spoon made by wood). Why? I doubt that.
According to http://hakatanomiryoku.com , in olden days, a wife who was cooking dinner heard melody by Dontaku bands. She became fun and join the bands with Shamozi in her hands. Because of that story, people need to Shamozi in the festival.
Recently marching become poplar in the festival. Most of the member are students who between kindergarten to university. Their performance was so great!
I'm looking forward to next year's festival. Thank you.
