in #festival5 years ago

hello friends, how are you... sorry for this late post, hope you like my last post about Navratri celebration In todays i would like share about the Dussehra pujan or vijaydashmi pujan. It is the tenth day celebration of navratri. why call it dussehra because an evil king with ten heads were destroyed with fireworks and crackers by the lord ram. Different states like karnataka, Gujarat, Uttar pradesh and others have very different rituals of celebration.

It is the greatest and important festival celebrated all over the india in different way. I woke early morning around 6 o'clock gear up with the mug of coffee, to start cleaning up the house and shop, throw out the waste from the house. Many of my neighbouring houses are getting painted or whited wash. After cleaning i have decorated it with the strings of flowers.

In our customs, According to the ancestor's it is the lucky sight to see the auspicious fish first in dussehra . Kids from the villages catch the fishes from near ponds or river, put it into jar or small buckets, and knocking door to door early in the morning to show you the wish. In return their get the collections of coins as the reward. When 'm was child, i was always excited to see the fish first and put the coins in the buckets but same thing 'm watching to little one in my house.

Another interesting thing about this festivals, it is also believe to see silver coin and fish dip in the curd to make your year most favourable and lucky for you. In India people used to believe such type of things. From generation to generation such type things are working out.

It is also believe that lord ram sightings the neelkanth or indian roller spotted in the journey while going to kill ravana. This bird is another name of lord shiva.. On this auspicious day the poor villagers brings the bird in the cage, to collect some money. In the evening time their open the cage, so that bird fly gives our message to lord ram. when we see the bird, we used to say

** Neelkanth tum neele rhaiyo....
dudh bhaat ka bhooj ka kariyo..
Humhari baat ram se kahiyo...**

In english the means Neelkanth you remain blue, eat rice and milk and convey my message to lord ram.

Around 10 o'clock, every member of family is collected in the puja ghar to worship the lord ram. On this day my mother used to make ten circles with the paste made up of turmeric and wheat, in each circle she keep the cow dung along with yellow flowers, she learn this from her mother in law. The only thing know about this puja is that these ten yellow circles represents the head of ravan. Hope you all like the indian culture n Ritual.

And the well know dussehra tradition is to worship all tools, instruments or weapons we used in our daily life are placed in front of god. As i have Jewellery showroom these are tools we are using in our daily life. And each tool tie up with red thread and put tika on it, this is how we use to do our worship.

And we also worship the all the notepads, registers, pens etc to start up everything with the blessings of god. with the roli(good in Hinduism) we make the om and swastik which is good sign, and the elder member of family writes on the paper

Uttar ka ghoda, dakshin ka neer
paschim ka varda, purva ka cheer

This how we used to celebrate our dussehra festival.write on comment do you like the way we celebrate our festivals.
