The Vagina Monologues - Women Rights Not Only For Women

Hello, Steemit Community! I managed to post only the half of my very first post on Steemit :)... so please let me try it again! :-)

My name is Luca Jakab and I am a London based art manager originally from Budapest. I started this blog because though art is my main passion, I am also interested in many other things in life - business, self development, politics, human and animal rights, vegetarian and vegan lifestyle, startups and social enterprises, music, religion and philosophy... I could go on and on. I just wish I had thousands of lives. So I could be a sculptor. Or a Tibetan nun. Or a full time human rights activist. Or a feminist writer. Or a politician. Or... so many other things.

Unfortunately, it seems like I'm stuck in this body I currently own for a while (hence the name, Onism), so I decided to simply share the amazing things other people do (all the sculptors, nuns, activists, writers and even some of the politicians), and I just hope that these posts will inspire you too on your journey. No matter what you do and where you are, or who is that person you forgot to be... What you should expect from my blog is random content about motivating people and things.

This is one of my favourite videos and I want to share it with you as my very first (!) blog post. I used to think that 'The Vagina Monologues' was just a provocative title for a probably very shallow theatre play, and I didn't feel like wasting my time on it... Well, I was totally wrong! In 2006 Charles Isherwood of the New York Times called The Vagina Monologues 'probably the most important piece of political theatre of the last decade' and he was right. Unfortunately the quality of the video isn't really the best on YouTube, but you can also find many other great talks by Eve Ensler on TED's official website. ALERT: this video isn't only for radical feminists. It is for everyone who has a mother, a sister, a girlfriend, a classmate, a wife, a daughter. It is about the exploitation of women, but not only for women. I hope you'll like it and if you have a chance, go and watch The Vagina Monologues as well! Enjoy!
