Hmmmmm. That FEMA barge looks eerily like the "ships" in the movie "2012".

After Hurricane Katrina, a lot of the New Orleans residents were relocated to other parts of the country, and into trailers in the area. Each option allowed for continuation of a person's freedom.

This situation reminds me of the 1940s, when public housing was built all across the country. It, too, was meant to be "temporary" housing for displaced families. Now, we see what it really is.

The barge option, although economical, gives MAXIMUM control over every aspect of people's lives. While accepting this "aid" from FEMA, people should strive to get another place to live as quickly as possible. Even if it means applying for that "temporary" public housing in another state, it is a better option than a barge.
