About Bulgarian cosmetics from an experienced user

in #feedback6 years ago (edited)

It is high time to admit that I’m already six years old, or rather soon, seven, writing reviews. At first I wrote reviews about everything in the world - what I see, then I sing, as they say. And then went purely to cosmetics. Because it is simple: I love cosmetics, I use it all the time - why not write a review. Moreover, in this way I memorize information for myself so that in six months I don’t buy cream or face wash, which turned out to be useless for me. And since I like to try everything new, I probably have a thousand reviews about cosmetics — I never considered them.

**************

Of course, I use very different cosmetics, which I can buy on the territory of Bulgaria, in particular in Sofia. Sometimes I buy something in online stores, if it is not available offline. But in general, I do not like to buy anything and prefer to test cosmetics before buying. Especially when it comes to expensive products.

In general, I prefer German and French manufacturers. Ask why not Bulgarian? I don’t know, simply, I haven’t yet found in the Bulgarian cosmetics those perfect textures and fragrances that the French or Germans have.

I had a period when I used exclusively Bulgarian cosmetics and in the end I came to certain conclusions, which I will write about now.

About Bulgarian cosmetics from an experienced user

I share Bulgarian cosmetics in the cheap and medium price range. Dear Bulgarian cosmetics does not happen by definition. It is for the compositions. In addition to some natural ingredients, Bulgarian cosmetics are full of outdated and cheap. Even if they did something luxury it still should not cost more than 30 euros per tube. Of course, of course.

The technologies here are still slightly above average (with a few exceptions), and in the bulk - the former socialist ones. The specialists are the same, the raw materials are the same. It is raw materials, by the way, that greatly reduces the cost of cosmetics: because it’s not imported.

What is the raw material for Bulgarian cosmetics:

  •      rose oil,
  •      pink water,
  •      pink concrete
  •      extracts of numerous herbs growing on the territory of BG,
  •      thermal water,
  •      Black Sea salt
  •      Black Sea meadows,
  •      Bulgarian honey
  •      Pomorie mud
  •      Bulgarian wine and grapes.

The list can be continued for quite a long time, because the territory of Bulgaria is full of all sorts of minerals, mineral waters, rare medicinal plants, as well as a fairly good environment due to the almost complete absence of heavy production.

Just do not think that I’m forcing and everything is somehow bad. Nothing like this. You just need to take a sober look at things and understand that Bulgaria is not France)) Cosmetics is not its strongest side. Therefore, you must carefully read the labels, compositions and look at the price tag.

Range

Today in Bulgaria produced an incredible amount of cosmetics. This is done not only by old socialist factories with new owners, but also by small semi-domestic factories. Every day I meet in the shops a new Bulgarian brand.

I always take testers and, frankly, have never been surprised :). Everything is well forgotten old. By quality.

However, I also have favorites among Bulgarian cosmetics.

For example, I have been using Biotrade Acid Exfoliating Tonic for many years. Such a product in terms of quality and price is not offered by any European brand - 8 euros in terms of lev for 60 ml of 10% acids. Here the Bulgarians are great fellows.

In that year, Biotrade began to produce acid foams for washing - I am delighted with them. Also, Biotrade has a dry-type deodorant - Odorex (5 euro per 50 ml). Also a very good thing. Especially if you compare the prices of authentic Dry-Dryia and Bulgarian.

For lovers of rose water, I always advise cosmetics from Karlovo (Bylgarska Roza).

This cosmetics is made in the famous Pink Valley and is worth a penny. I love their rose water, hand cream and moisturizing mask. I don't need anything else. Although their shower gels and shampoos are quite good. Just here I love the Germans.

The same manufacturer has a more expensive line (Ladys Joy) in which there is a wonderful enzyme washbasin - an exfoliant in the photo below at a price of 35 levs. This is the price for tourists, otherwise its price is 22 lev.

Bulgarians love to make professional cosmetics for salons. True, I did not see salons that would work on it, but this is most likely because I rarely go there. Salons, which I know, prefer foreign brands.

Bulgarian Christine has whole buckets of excellent fragrant body peeling. Amrita has very cheap alginate masks. I use all of these regularly, although every year they are harder to buy: Amrita closed her showroom two years ago and now everything is just online, and for Christina I run throughout Sofia.

Unfortunately, the shops of the Bulgarian cosmetics is of good quality with rare products, such as acids and alginate, do not last long in the market. Due to the non-prevalence of these procedures among the mass buyer and high competition with salons working on foreign products.

I even got the impression that new brands appear every month and also quickly disappear.

What I don't like about Bulgarian cosmetics

  •      Textures. Most often it resembles whipped vaseline.
  •      Aromas. I do not know why, but in Bulgaria they do not know how to make cosmetics with delicate smells.      She either smells of medicine or fells down the scent of cheap perfume.

Of course, this is my personal impression. I even avoided the famous Refan for several years, because my nose cannot withstand such an attack, and the mass of people adore him and do not consider it a stench. Now I am more or less used to it, but I still consider their aromas coarse and annoying.

For comparison: I like the smell of the French Nüks night mask. And in general, I hear all the smells around me and therefore I prefer to walk on foot in order not to use public transport.

What I like about Bulgarian cosmetics

  •      Huge assortment.
  •      Very low prices.
  •      Availability.
  •      The compositions

What can I advise

If you like pink fragrances, then buy everything that you like. It will not harm your pocket and health. The only thing, if you are accustomed to using expensive cosmetics in salons, you don’t need a cream with a rose Biofresh or from Karlovo - just ruin your face. In my experience, they all clog pores.

If you like to do salon procedures at home, then Biotrade is for you. Also KSAT, like Sea Stars with the Black Sea meadow. It will be cheap, plentiful and efficient.

Read the compositions and look at the prices.

Not all cosmetics on roses is worth your attention and your money: ask testers. Even if it costs 10 leva - why do you need an extra tube of Vaseline. Unless of course, we are not talking about this petroleum jelly, which is produced here in unlimited quantities. For example, Talloderm, which I love very much for therapeutic creams for the body, hands and feet, also makes pink petroleum jelly and I use it when coloring the eyebrows. Great Vaseline! It is worth 2 leva (1 euro). One tube is enough for half the life. In general, Talloderma is an excellent Bulgarian cosmetics for its money. They have a lot of pharmacy creams designed for atopic skin. Talloderm is made using French technology.

Try not to buy cosmetics in tourist places - there it is much more expensive. For example, in my photo from the souvenir shop there is rose water from Karlovo for 9 leva. In a normal store, it costs 4 leva. And everything else as well.

I emphasize that all this is my subjective opinion, based on personal experience of use. My attitude to cosmetics is very simple: I need it to work for me and bring benefits. If there is no effect from a cosmetic product or its texture or aroma does not give me pleasure, I consider that our meeting was a mistake.

I do not sell or deliver cosmetics.

Thank you for your time and attention.
