U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) employees can now invest in Crypto
Last month, the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) became involved with the cryptocurrency market, becoming a watchdog for new fraudulent claims in the cryptocurrency market. The agency will now oversee bitcoin futures, the market in which investors bet on the value of bitcoin without actually investing in the actual currency. It's now being reported that the CFTC will allow employees to get in on the action—they are now allowed to invest and trade cryptocurrencies.
CFTC employees aren't allowed to invest in the bitcoin futures they oversees due to obvious conflict of interest. They're also being warned to avoid inside trading which is illegal.
