Feathered Friday - whipoorwill and some common birdssteemCreated with Sketch.

Here's a hermit thrush against some nice fall colors for this #featheredfriday by @melina010100

This was as close as I could get before it flew away. They have a really nice two toned song almost flute and wind chime sounding.

Nearby i found a cousin to the hermit thrush the American robin. They area super easy to photograph and are good camera setting subjects to ready your lens for more difficult birds.

Here's a little downy woodpecker that snuck up beside me. These guys are also pretty tame and easy to get shots of.

Here's a plump catbird I caught with my flash at dusk. I heard it making cat noises in the bushes and snuck up on it. These guys are also related to robins and are pretty tame subjects to photograph.

Here's a house finch I got on an evergreen. He's almost the same color as the little pine cones.

Here's a great blue heron hunting blue gill in a ditch. This guy didn't seem to mind me hanging around taking pictures. I waited a long time but couldn't get a good shot of him catching a fish.

This was the best shot of the day, a whipoorwill chilling on the evergreens. They don't have knees to so they have to cling to things, rest on the ground or plop upright on a branch like this. They also have some big wiskers around their beaks to help guide insects into tgeir mouths as they zoom around at night.

Here's another easy subject to photograph. A red wing blackbird. They are very territorial and dive bomb you if there is a nest nearby. I caught this shot this past spring and he was ticked at me for encroaching into his territory lol.

Here's his girlfriend a female red wing blackbird catching bugs for the babies. It looks like her beak is full of aphids or caterpillars. Next spring I hope to get more shots like this... happy #featheredfriday

The red winged blackbird is beautiful.

They are hilarious to watch, and they love to dive bomb.

Pretty whipoorwill and other birds photography.

Fantastic bird photos! I am so envious of the whipoorwill photo. When I lived in Central WI I heard them every evening and never saw one. I don't have them here. Really great photos! !Tip

I thought it was a weird looking pinecone at first. Maybe part of his camoflage. So far thats the only time I've seen one.
