I think of Jays as being cute and funny. They are fearless - unless there's another Jay around, lol. In the mornings when they're going after the peanuts and bread, often there will be 2 of them that can't decide what to do.
They'll start doing the be-bop thing, where they bounce up and down and make that unique "bloop a da bloop" sound, it cracks me up! Then a third Jay will swoop in and grab a peanut right in front of the two having an issue with each other. So funny!
They are wicked fun to watch, @free-reign! Especially in the winter, when I put bread and nuts out - that's when I notice the antics like you describe. They are super smart birds, that's for sure!
