Don't let fear ruin it, you're a step away from victory!
Fear is a challenge every individual battles with in everyday living. You're afraid of snakes, wall geckos, heights, darkness....
In a broader sense, disappointments, making mistakes, saying/doing it wrong, having a bad day, meeting the wrong people....
In a deeper sense, where you alone can understand, you're afraid of depression, failure, commitment, loneliness, rejection, emptiness...etc. So you live your life with that consciousness, you hold tight your moments of strength and happiness as they only last as long as your fear lets them. Then you relax and tell yourself it's normal, things happen.... I agree!
But then,
I think fear has only as much power as you delegate to it, it is as relevant as the attention and strength you apportion to it makes it.
According to Apostle Paul, Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. If you ask me, i think fear rolls the exact same way. It derives its substance (essence) from your consideration and consciousness of, and sensitivity to it, and then whatever picture it brings to your imagination becomes your evidence that it exists.
(Nonsense!)
If you do not see it, why do you yet hope for it (when operating in fear)? Sometimes it's so real you feel like you can actually touch it. But you can't touch it, because it's not real! It only exists in your imagination.
So what defence do you build against this enemy that milks away your strength and potential? COURAGE! 
Yes, fear is a natural feeling, but it is naturally destructive too (who says every feeling that comes naturally is to be explored?). No matter how strong you are, fear always comes anyway.... I know. So feel it, but don't dwell in it. Face it with Courage.
Courage acknowledges the presence of fear, but is stronger and more determined to succeed. Courage makes you think things like "Yes, it could actually happen all wrong, but i don't know for sure. What if it went all right? It would be totally amazing, i would love to feel that too!" Then fear recognizes its way out naturally.
Don't be ashamed you're afraid, be ashamed you do not want to grow out of it. You can start by having a little more faith each minute, hour, day...
Faith in yourself.
Faith in the 0.0001% of goodness that still exists somewhere in this world.
Faith in the big picture of the victory you envision.
Courage requires a lot of strength, so also does fear.
My advice...
Let the activation energy be greater than the energy barrier!

very true but the sadly very hard to put to practice as fear is stronger than faith..it's easier or maybe even more natural to feel fear than faith in a moment of crisis
That's very true in many cases. But if you pay close attention, you'll notice that fear just swims in slowly from without, and overthrows you, but when talking faith/courage, it comes from within, and breaks it's way through. It's a little more difficult to exercise faith because it seems to require some more energy.. But if that's what it takes to overcome fear, i think it's worth the stress. So it's a matter of wanting to come out of that position, and making efforts towards it. Thank you for your sincere contribution, it's very open and well appreciated.
