The Positive Side of Fear

Fear is nothing more than a self-preservation mechanism. And one of the things it does is put us in a state of alert. Fear mobilizes, pushes us forward, and pulls us out of accommodation. For example, the fear of making a mistake makes us go after information, ask for someone's opinion or simply be careful. Everything we do with a little fear, we do more carefully.

This is very positive!

The problem with fear is when it paralyzes us and prevents us from accomplishing what we want.
Fear is created inside our minds from a combination of traumas, expectations, and fears.

TRAIN YOUR BRAIN

Negative thinking is frequently the cause of low self-confidence. As humans, we have a proclivity to focus on all of the features and attributes that we lack, and to constantly remind ourselves of what we lack.

Reversing this style of thinking is a terrific method to help you gain greater confidence. Make it a point to focus on your positive qualities and attributes every day. Remind yourself of what you have going for you in your life on a regular basis.

Our inner critic is the source of some of the harshest comments we hear from ourselves. When your inner critic becomes erroneous and overactive, it can cause you to lose confidence and self-esteem.

Cognitive behavioral therapy, for example, can assist you in training your brain to challenge your inner critic. It can teach you how to find solid evidence that backs up or refutes what your inner voice is telling you.

Always be on the lookout for opportunities to commend, reward, and congratulate yourself, and finally put an end to the negative self-talk that is destroying your confidence.

CHANGE OF THINKING CHANGES REALITY

The attitudes we take are originated from our beliefs, that is, a set of properly organized thoughts that will give us the idea of how to do certain things.

The basis of beliefs are thoughts. Therefore, the ideal way to do something new or develop a skill is to start, first of all, working on our thoughts, because they become our attitudes.

By working on the thoughts we will change our beliefs. By changing the beliefs, we change the attitudes. Changing attitudes, we change our reality.
