hardly too strong to say that the Constitution was made to guard the people against the dangers of good intentions
that's EXACTLY the intent of the constitution.
the tenth amendment makes that very damn clear.
Sadly I think that well thought out and timeless document you speak of has been stepped on so many times no one can read what it says anymore.
