Don't know what you're measuring to gauge 80% cotton the best - cotton is worse than wool for maintaining warmth, it's heavier and arguably uglier than silk, and it's not as durable as leather. Cotton is not a usual material for shoes, either. These are leather with a polyester faux fur lining.
