'Islamic Fashion Institute' Teaches Islamic Fashion Business

A first Islamic fashion school in Indonesia not only teaches its students designing, styling and marketing, but everything is done according to Islamic sharia.
The school was set up amid growing demand for Muslim clothing. Already 140 students are studying at the school to create variations of hijab and long dresses for women consumers and embroidered shirts and shirts for men.
"We want our students to create unique designs and become leaders in a polite, courteous industry," said Deden Siswanto, founder of the Islamic Fashion Institute. The school was founded three years ago in Bandung.
"We also teach them how to dress according to Islamic sharia."

At that time, it appeared that some girls were sketching and working in some of the sewing machines available at the school. The school offers a nine-month course that includes fashion, marketing and the fundamentals of fashion.
The school is open to students and students, both Muslim and non-Muslim. But the lecturers must be Muslim to ensure knowledge of the procedures for doing business according to Islam.
Fashion demand trends in accordance with the provisions of religion increasingly prevalent among the middle class in Indonesia is growing. For years, it is still rare for Indonesian Muslim women to wear hijab or prefer to wear batik or western-style clothing.
Some of the major online retailer companies, such as Lazada.com and Zalora.com provide some special pages for Muslim fashion.
Indonesia for the first time to hold a Muslim Fashion Week fashion show in 2015. The Ministry of Industry targets Indonesia to become a "Muslim Fashion Center" by 2020.
One of the girls at the Islamic Fashion Institute, Runi Somadipradja, said he started wearing the hijab in 2007, but found it difficult to find suitable Muslim clothing options.
"I started designing clothes that I wear myself," said Runi. "We are overwhelmed to fulfill (demand). So far, I've launched 10 fashion collections. "[Ft / au]
