FASHION:new series and update
You don’t need to have spent too much time in the new year to know what fashion trends are going to dominate 2018. The writing is on the wall: Designers, influencers, and all the stylish people you see on the street seem to be on the same page about a handful of trends-a certain type of tops, a particular kind of sleeve. Before you know it, those trends will be at your neighborhood purveyor of fast-fashion; and from there… You won’t be able to go anywhere without noticing them. So, before they reach that level of pervasiveness, brush up on the 8 fashion trends we’re betting on big for 2018.
- Ballon sleeves
We’ve already seen sleeves get super-sized in 2017. This year we will see more adventurous versions – voluminous blouses that feel a little bit 19th century. Trend setters such as the First Lady of the USA Melania Trump already stepped out in her version.
- Triple denim
Still partial to vintage stonewash denim? If you are wistful for the 90s trend the denim -all -the -way look is back for 2018. Now go shopping.
- Radically transparent
The style cognoscenti don’t waste time with handbag clutter. Streamline your daily haul and upgrade your wallet: with plastic as a key catwalk trend. Your entirely see-through handbag should only reveal a neatly curated interior. Also we will see more transparency in shoes and slippers in 2018
-Cyclers Cycling shorts are back
requisitioned from the Eighties aerobics studio. Well, only if they’re beautifully rendered under tassel-heavy shirts. Time to tone up those thighs.
-Sheer Transparency
is a head lining trend – sheer coats, dresses and skirts revealed cycling shorts and full briefs. Basically, it’s all about what lies beneath in 2018. Consider it a more demure take on the ubiquitous naked dress.
-Satin Satin’s
sheen in stantly elevates any silhouette; its inherent fluidity and lightness makes it comfortable for night. Target evening.
-Sequins
To say sequins and sparkles will be a big deal next summer is an understatement. In every fashion capital, glitter prevailed. Style yours with a sweatshirt to give them daytime longevity.
-Clashing prints
If corresponding colours aren’t your thing, mix feelings — and prints — in 2018. Try sizes of all stripes.
