.the exterior of the coat is the colorful design adapted from a mural painted by @norm4eva in my home studio — the interior is a soft purple fabric
.thick enough polyester to wear in winter with a hoodie underneath, but also proper for a cold summer night
.the early stages of the mural was all done free form with aerosol cans
.as the mural filled in with colors acrylic paint markers were brought in for finer details
.the design was translated and printed on to the polyester coats via a process called dye sublimation (Dye sublimation is the process of turning a water-based dye ink into a gas that bonds with polyester fabric or other polymers. It dyes the polymer molecule, resulting in a vibrant graphic that never washes off. This is done with the aid of some transfer paper and a heat press.) Dye sub items are becoming more popular as people want to wear a design "all over" on tee shirts and other clothing items, not just screen printed on the chest or back.
