Locust Migratory(Schistocerca cancellata)
There are many stories that grandparents tell us about this terrible plague that destroyed their crops; they tell us that the locust is a grasshopper that arrives at the plantations in herds or swarms, which is about large quantities crossing the sky and arriving like an army, fighting all the plants that were in its path.

The truth is that these stories seem like movies, but only for those of us who live in regions where this plague has never arrived and that God protects us from those bugs. But the reality is that in many countries in Europe, North America, Brazil, Argentina and Chile. Which means that this plague persists as a potential threat. I was reading some publications on the Internet about this plague, where it says that in 2010 the Phytosanitary Emergency was declared throughout the national territory in the Province of Catamarca, La Rioja and Córdoba. being necessary to give rise to a Contingency Plan for the massive attack of the flying lobster. So the plague is still around the air and threatening the crops.

The biological cycle of the migratory locust

Source

The biological cycle includes egg stages: juvenile (nymph) and adult status. The adult female lays the eggs grouped in bundles that bury in the ground. From the eggs the nymphs are born. These go through 5 stages that differ by size and color, the smallest are the "mosquitas" and the largest are the "saltonas". In juvenile stages, the lobster presents more vivid colors that go from intense green to brown. The nymphs are similar to adults but lack wings, so they can only move in leaps. After the fifth nymphal stage emerges the adult, with fully developed wings and great capacity for flight. In adults, the dorsal part of the head has a cream colored band that extends along the thorax and the main wings. The hind legs have a white stripe and white spines with black tips.

locust have two phases. In the solitary phase, they develop feeding on the available plants and without making more trips than between neighboring plants, or from one pasture to another. If the number of nymphs per square meter is high, they move to the gregarious phase, where it changes color and increases its consumption and
reproduction. Upon reaching adulthood, they form the sleeves with the ability to travel long distances.
