ELIMINATING LAZINESS IN THE AGRICULTURAL SECTOR.
hello @farms and Co farmer. It's a pleasure to be here again. Initially I never had any good intention about farm but as time goes on a come to realize that this is one of the problem that has causes the wide spread of poverty in our society today. Poverty does not come when we are hardworking but when we are lazy.
Yes!!! Laziness is the problem. So many of us especially youth finds farming to be a disgraceful activities because pride won't allow them see what is right.
Laziness is the number one problem. Youth wants to be rich at their tender age and spend a whole lot of money, they want to achieve alot within a short period of time, but they don't want to work.
Thanks to @sirknight and @abiye for the farm initiatives. @abiye is really doing a wonderful job here I must say.
And now I'm here to be a part of the great farmers @farm in other to make the world a better place.
Translating the value-laden terms ‘lazy’ and ‘hard-working’ into more neutral language, the question might be rephrased in terms of ‘technical efficiency’. Is there any evidence that the Basic Payment has an effect on the technical efficiency with which farmers use their resources? "That's a good for thought"
I’ ve always seen problems in value chain in the agricultural space and sought to fix them . I believe the flip side of every problem is opportunity and solving problems commands value. It is easy to spot problems in the agricultural sector because I believe the big businesses of tomorrow will be solving social issues such as unemployment , and not just aiming for profit.
When farm is been mentioned, what comes to people's mind is tilling the ground and planting of seed, going through alot of stress before harvesting. Little did they know that there is more to farming than tilling the ground.
Farming includes poultry, fish rearing, snail farming, animal rearing , planting of crop and many more.
It's is true that nothing good comes easily but with determination, we can be what we wanna be within a short period of time.
I will be sharing my thought in different firm in which we can engage in farming for the next few days
Poultry farming
It’s not unusual for new farmers to start out with poultry because of the popular opinion that poultry farming is an easy entry into farming in general. To an extent, this opinion is true.
In other to engage in poultry farming a little few things should be put in place such that it's makes a successful one.
Which includes :
- Feasibility Study : The feasibility study on your poultry farm will help you know if the business is viable on all fronts including business viability.
2.Have a financial project.
3.have a good business plan: A business plan for your poultry farm will typically feature how you intend on growing and sustaining the business. It will include the executive summary, business overview, operations plan, sales and marketing, SWOT analysis, and the management team.
4.Have a good farm location : Establishing a poultry farm in a rented land is absolutely a bad idea. However, while selecting land, keep in mind some important facilities like great source of water, free from all types of animals and predators, a market near the farm, proper transportation facilities.
5.choose your prefer kind of bird breed : Layers Breeding which is egg production by Layers
Broilers breeding which referrers to the chicken meat production by Broilers
Hatchery which has to do with breeding chicken for the purpose of Hatching new chicks
Poultry feed which is producing feeds for other poultry farmers.
As time goes on, I will present more educative post on farming. Remember farm is not all about tilling the ground.
Thanks to @abiye for the farm initiatives. I hope someone finds this to be educative.
Expect more farm educative post.
Thanks for your time
