Interestingly, Rabbits still feeds on a special type of there excrement called
CAECOTROPHY.

After eating and fermentation of the non -fine component of the caecum (part of the elementary canal or tract),

a pillet is formed which is a soft night fieces that is voided about ten(10) hours after feeding.

A strong odour of the volatile fatty acid in the caecotrophys seems to stimulate it's consumption directly from the anus.

This practice of consuming the soft night fieces directly from the anus is called

ceacotrophy
