Quail Breeding.

The quail is a short-tailed bird, small, short beak, its plumage is ocher, black and white that allows it to be easily confused with the ground (mimics), this condition allows it to protect itself from natural predators. Their eggs are small, but very nutritious and rich in protein.

Between the male and female, there is great similarity, the difference is that the male has a white throat with dark lists similar to an anchor. This bird has managed to adapt to the environment, for this reason it is found on all continents.

Breeding quail, nowadays it has become a business, due to the quality of its eggs and meat, seeing this poultry as an investment.

TIPS FOR BREEDING OF CODORNICES:

• FOOD: It is based especially on grains, seeds, fruits and enough water.

• HYGIENE: The quail are vulnerable to infections by both internal and external parasites, therefore, the cages and their accessories must be kept very clean, especially the trays of excrement should be cleaned every day. Be alert to any injury, or abnormal appearance of the animal, to give it the necessary care.

• QUANTITY: It is recommended not to exceed the amount of quail per cage. So that you can have control of each of them.

• PLACE: It is important that it be an open place, suitable for the amount of animals, the hatcheries can be vertical or horizontal. Depending on the purpose if it is for production of meat or eggs.

• LIGHTING: These birds need to eat continuously for their growth and line of postures in shorter and continuous times, in turn the lighting keeps away from natural predators.

It is important to know that there are different breeds of quail, before investing in breeding, that is, which suits your purpose, it should be noted that eggs are gaining followers because they are rich in vitamins and minerals.
