in #farms5 years ago

Oats are plants widely used to decorate interiors and outdoors. They can reach 30 or 40 cm in height, have delicate leaves and an irregular format that pleases many people. A well-known relative of avenca is fern. Like it, it has no flower or fruit or seed, but, spores.

Besides being an ornamental plant, it has medicinal properties and can be ingested in the form of tea. It has anti-inflammatory, diuretic, antioxidant, expectorant, laxative and other properties.

They are usually sensitive to environmental factors, but I'm sure you will be able to grow in your organic garden and medicinal followed my advice.

Types of Oats

The oats are innumerable, with a singular characteristic. They have their name derived from the Greek "advanced", which indicates a plant that does not get wet. The best known ferns are the hair of Venus (Adiantum capillusveneris), hair of Angel (Adiantum microphyla), the avencão (macrophylla Adiantum) and the Swiss culantrillo (Adiantum radianum).

How to grow organic oats

Did you know that the best time to plant avenca is in the spring? This is because you have a harder time developing well when the weather is colder. Other recommendations for you now to know how to grow organic oats are below.

Weather
The ideal temperature for avencas is the highest, but it is possible to cultivate them between 13 to 30ºC in more humid environments. It must be kept away from the wind.

Lighting
The avenues need indirect sunlight for a good development.

Terrain
The ideal soil for oats is fertile soil with good drainage. Make your substrate free of pathogens such as fungi.

Seedlings and planting

According to the expert Organic Agriculture Thiago Tadeu Campos , by the changes of culantrillo, it is possible to be chosen to make from the spores or by division of bushes.

For spores, you will need to scrape the spores with a knife type object, very carefully. The spores are black dots when ripe, which are left at the bottom of the leaves. The spores will fall on a surface (you can put a white paper) and will spread on the substrate in a sowing once you finish. Cover the sowing with plastic and wait to germinate.
At first, it will look like you are creating a kind of moss. But don't worry, when it gets bigger, you'll notice that the spores are germinating! Remove from sowing and place in the definitive place when the molts have at least two centimeters.

Another alternative is to remove the seedlings from the gums. Separate the moles and make the sowing. This procedure must be carried out with great care so as not to damage the roots.

Whichever method you chose to plant oats, a very important characteristic about that plant is that it is sensitive to changes of place. Plant in the definitive place!

Watering
Oats should always water, to keep the soil always moist. But in the winter, ideally, the soil should be expected to dry slightly before the next watering.

How to care for oats

Keep your plan away from the winds, for you will not tolerate strong and constant winds.

Always be attentive to the luminosity it is receiving. Remember that you need indirect sunlight. You can see if the light is adequate from the color of the leaves.

Make organic fertilizer every semester.

The pruning cleaning has to remove branches or dead.
