Measuring Potential

Recently, I have been measuring my current income potential here on Steemit. It is a difficult thing to measure. There seems to be no way to predict community response to a post.

Here is my problem. My mother’s income is not enough to pay for her current living expenses. Since my brother died, I am left with covering the shortage. I hope to be able to cover her needs with my income from Steemit. Previously, I have been accumulating value within my wallet.

After looking at my production and the resulting averages, it is possible. I hope so, because I don’t want to sell assets.

My mother is a part of the generation who fought in WWII. She has lived through some of the most prosperous times in world history. The memories of the depression she saw in her youth are faded completely. Caring for her is not financially easy.

When I provided care for my dying wife, it seemed easier. I was younger and stronger. Getting old is a bad idea. Living past your finances is worse.

The point is, we all must save for the future. Saving dollars or other fiat currency seems pointless. Crypto currency has potential, but as with my Steemit income... potential is very hard to measure and predict. Only God can count the apples in a seed.

My hope is that by producing content frequently I can float my boat. In the meantime I must live small, spend small, and just keep planting seed.
