Farm Dams.

in #farm7 years ago

These Farm dams are near Narrabri, in North Western NSW, Australia. They catch runoff from the farm, and are an important source of water for livestock, and also provide a habitat and feeding grounds for native wildlife. These two farm dams are fed by natural springs , which keep the water level topped up, and do not go dry, even in a drought. 140.JPG150.JPG

@ctrl-alt-nwo - Oh Sir, you made it or a naturally born dams. Fantastic photography & nice explanation of the usefulness Sir

Nice photos! Very nostalgic atmosphere for me. These ponds never dry up because of spring water! How lucky you are and for all the animals in the area. Wish there were dears, bears, zebras, giraffes, kangaroos all drinking water from the pond in your photo! Would be a lot of fun!

Cheers.

Pretty good place where drought is to happen often :)

@ctrl-alt-nwo
good one and which crops do you intend planting in the area of the water dam...

There is not enough water in the dams to water a crop, maybe a garden, thats all. But all the water is valuable, you are right.

sure... check my blog posts as i updated a lot on sustainable farming and food source... plus healthy feeding..

What about rice?

Its also looks like a nice swim at summer. Maybe you could sell it as 100% bio mud bath;)

AS long as you don't mind the leeches !

How much places (and inventions) do you have to store additional water xD

We use any and all that's available.
