The loveable tree from Guardians of the Galaxy. First appearing in comics around 1960, Groot has changed a lot through the years. He first started as a villain but eventually was reintroduced as a hero. Groot comes from a race of beings from Planet X. And though all we can understand from him is "I am Groot" he actually speaks a full language but has stiff larynges so it all sounds the same to most beings.
