CPS in New Zealand took a 1.5 month old daughter from a Russian couple during a visit to the hospital

Good day! In past posts I wrote already, that if you are going to another country for vacation or permanent residence, you should be especially careful with CPS. Often women are deprived of their children by the CPS decision and if in your home country you have a chance to return the children, then in the territory of the state where you are an immigrant, even if legally, it is almost impossible. In the press, there is even a" black list " of countries, in which such cases occur most often. I was surprised to see New Zealand on the list. Here is one of the high-profile stories, that once again proves, that CPS does not care about the child, but about its own benefit.

Polina and Artem Lyho live in Auckland. Pauline has mastered the profession of economic manager in a New Zealand University, and later issued a leave to care for a child. The family rents a private house. The New Zealand authorities took away the one and a half-month-old girl Vick from her parents after they brought the baby to the hospital for examination. The child's leg was swollen - as it turned out later, because of the crack. Just a day social services has filed a judicial decision, that the baby will be taken in connection with the danger of possible abuse. At first, the girl's parents - Polina and Artem, did not even, know where the child is. Parents fear, that the local social service does not provide adequate care for the child and could transfer Vick to another family.

The New Zealand social service does not fulfill the agreements: the mother's milk is not transferred to the girl in a timely manner, which clearly indicates clear violations. Employees of the social service CYFS (Children Youth and Family organization) issued a copy of the document of the Ministry of Justice , which refers to the removal of the child due to the risk of possible violence against him. In this case no investigation was carried out. The parents say, that their neighbors were not interviewed, social services should have asked the midwife, who took delivery, Polina (mother Victoria), talked with a nurse, who's watching Victoria from the day she was born, but CPS didn't do this. Social workers did not bother to fully examine all the circumstances of the accident, made a very cursory inspection of the cottage, in which the family lives. They never even visited the bedroom, where there was the crib of Vicky.

In addition, parents are worried about the health of the girl, how correctly was diagnosed, in this case, there could be a medical error. Perhaps the girl needs urgent surgery, as the diagnosis is not credible. Vicky's mother managed to insist and get agreement from the representatives of the social services, that Victoria eat exclusively breast milk. According to this agreement, representatives of CYFS pledged to come every morning and evening for bottles of milk. However, this promise was not fulfilled. An employee of the service comes only after a phone call with a delay from the scheduled time for 2-3 hours. This means that Victoria is fed with mixtures.

Victoria's grandmother said, she no longer trusts the authorities of New Zealand. In her opinion, the development of events with the abduction of her granddaughter suggests, that this could be a planned operation to remove the child for transfer to another family. "It is known that In New Zealand there is a huge queue for adoption of children with light skin. I know similar cases of children taking away, and we are afraid that with us and our family will act the same way", – Elena declared.

Parents turned to the Russian Embassy. After the Russian presidential Commissioner for children's rights Pavel Astakhov intervened in the case, the attitude of the CPS changed dramatically. The social protection immediately found out, explaining that, in their opinion, Polina (mother of Vicky did not want to prevent such a situation, that she is not dangerous, and that the family is good, therefore, proposed to issue the temporary custody of the girl to the grandmother while the investigation is ongoing. The CPS said, that they understand the difference between mentalities and asked to apologize for their moral suffering, citing the fact, that this is the law of the country. Then he gave the documents and told - study. And what use to study, if parents wanted as it is better. The child's leg was swollen and they immediately went to the hospital, they still had to do.

After the incident, the girl's parents decided to interrupt the education and move back to Russia, so calm. I am very glad, that this story ended well, but that had to go through parents and a small baby - scary to imagine. It is even more terrible to think about what would have happened, if the family had not appealed to the Russian Embassy and it did not interfere in the course of events. It can happen to every family, no matter what country. CPS hope to" stun " the parents and quickly pick up the child. When we are under stress, we often can't think clearly and wisely. It can lead to the loss of precious time, when the CPS has already given the child to another family and it will be too late to do something.

Thank you so much!

The most painful thing about this is that they do not even meet the basic needs of the little ones as is their food, they really generate more harm than security. I will be doing a forum on psychological first aid that are used when emotionally demanding situations arise such as the forced separation of infants, in my last post is the link I hope you take it

It's a great idea! Thanks for sharing!
