Little Alfie is fighting for his life

Little Alfie Evans, whose tragic story I wrote last week, was taken off life-support on Monday night at 9.17 at the Alder Hey hospital in Liverpool. He was expected to die within minutes. BUT HE DIDN'T. The 23-month old child started breathing on his own, fighting for his life just as hard as his parents do. During the prolonged legal battle, the doctors have repeatedly said the child is terminally ill and allowing him to die is in his best interests. It's just that Alfie doesn't want do die. He's spent the night cuddling in his mothers arms.

Sure enough, the doctors who were waiting for him to die refused to provide the child a little much needed oxygen, not a big deal, many patients get oxygen even for minor infections. It took six hours of negotiations and pleading for them to agree to give the child oxygen and, yes, even water.
At this point, it is hard to say what will happen with Alfie Evans, but he has already accomplished so much in his life. As his father, Tom Evans, wrote – 'He proved the doctors wrong'. To put it in more scientific terms – he proved the doctors don't know shit!
First of all, British doctors couldn't come up with a diagnostic, other than to say he's suffering from a degenerative neurological disease. Then they said he's in a semi-vegetative state and the merciful thing would be to end his 'suffering'.
As the little boy proved the doctors' assessment was wrong, no matter what happens to Alfie, his story will probably be referred to in any future legal case pitting medical experts versus families seeking other treatment options. It might also inspire other parents to seek a second opinion when doctors tell them there's nothing more they can do, because, as I've said, Alfie proved the doctors don't know shit!

Following the boy's miraculous feat, the parents got another emergency date in court on Monday, when they asked one simple thing – to be allowed to take their child from the hospital where he isn't getting any treatment anyway. Yet, the hospital representatives maintain moving him out at this time would be impossible, as doctors 'fear' for their lives. That's on account of the hundreds of protesters gathered outside the hospital. The doctors who took a child off life-support waiting for him to die now fear for their fucking lives! (Sorry for the rant, but I do hope there's a special place in Hell for whoever it was that had the nerve to say in court the doctors fear for their lives!)
Or it could take days to move him, they said, although a private plane provided by the Italian government is ready to take the boy to Rome 'within minutes'. The boy has been granted Italian citizenship and the Pope's hospital in Rome is waiting for him.
Judge Hayden decided that no, Alfie cannot be allowed to fly to Italy!

I hope there's a place in Hell for this guy too!
The hospital is now considering whether to let the boy home at least which might take a while, as there is now doubt doctors still hope he is going to die.

Thank you for writing this article and for taking the time to defend what is right. I wish I had seen it a couple of days ago. I just wrote a piece about Alfie today (https://steemit.com/alfie/@cwparkes/god-bless-alfie-evans). It is absolutely tragic the way this family has been treated and the way the British government has dictated their fate (yes, dictated...like dictators). They have lost their perspective on the legal legalities of the issue. The laws surrounding death and discontinuation of life support were not written to promote dictatorial control by the state. They were written to respect the sanctity of human life and the ethical approach to medicine that has been established over centuries. I practice law int he health care sector in Canada and have dealt with multiple difficult, heart-wrenching end of life cases and I can tell you that while I cannot guarantee that the law would be properly observed if this case happened here, it would certainly demand that the parents had a certain right to self-determination after the hospital and doctors discontinued treatment. There should not be an extension to interfere with their personal decisions after the discontinuation of care. The law gives the health care team no jurisdiction over this, though I suppose they would invoke certain child protection laws.

I personally can't imagine a more positively protective pair of parents than Alfie's.

I will tag any future posts under #familyprotection. Thank you for sharing.

The argument that the boy can't be moved because it somehow affects the doctors having street justice administered to them doesn't even make sense. In fact, rationally one could assume if the child dies there in that hospital it would increase the odds they will be on the receiving end of their karma.

I applaud the family continuing to fight for the life of their child, and the one thing I felt reading your post and seeing the pictures of the child with his mother is the connection both energetically and physically (being held and loved) is giving the child strength to battle on despite the evil intentions arrayed against him.

I lean towards spiritual/energetic dynamics and the question this raises for me is what is it about this boy that they perhaps fear so much they are willing to go to such lengths to see him die.

Thank you for posting this update.

I had to write this because it makes me so mad. I just couldn't believe the judge would again reject their pleas. As an Italian official involved in the case put it this is inhumane. I've been wondering too why they would not let him go and I can come up with some pretty wild scenarios. The simplest explanation is that the system must always be right. The judge had to side with the doctors, they're all part of the system. The system's credibility is at stake. Reading about the court session today it is obvious they were all very pissed those two mortals, the parents, dared to challenge the system.
Speaking of reasons why they would want him dead, I just read a comment on FB pointing to the fact that the child must be at least two years old to receive vaccine injury compensation... I wrote in my previous post about possible vaccine injury...

The gall many judges and politicians have been displaying for years is outrageous. I do not understand how it has devolved to this point without many of them scared to show their faces, like those evil doctors.

I wish I understood more about the vaccines. I meet so many people who will argue with me over them, and they talk over my points of freedom to not be forced with their talk of probabilities and statistic citations on how this disease has been stopped and it would come back without it. The only one I can usually get them to shut up about is the HPV vaccine.

Great comment. I agree with your points. The sad part is that a lot of those who seek to enforce these powers over the will of the individual and/or family have lost sight of the fact that the laws around end of life, determination of death and continuation of life support were created to be ethical, moral and respectful of spirituality, while also being informed by science. Paternalistic, overbearing control was not the intent. It's one thing to determine that no more treatment is appropriate. It's another thing to interfere with the family's further further plans for the child after that determination.

As situations like this become normalized, as well as more restrictions on what we are allowed to do (with proper licenses of course) it seems they no longer feel the need to pretend we are not their property to be told how we can live (or die).

I lean towards spiritual/energetic dynamics and the question this raises for me is what is it about this boy that they perhaps fear so much they are willing to go to such lengths to see him die.

I didn't think of it from that perspective. Interesting. I've read a few stories recently about children who appear disabled but have what appears to be psychic abilities.

This is one of the worst accounts I have heard in a while. Such evil bastards and they should be fearing for their lives. If you live by the sword, be prepared to die that way too(in this case especially)

They have no fear as they have all the swords for now. Just take a look at this warning issue by the local police:

“I would like to make people aware that these posts are being monitored and remind social media users that any offences including malicious communications and threatening behaviour will be investigated and where necessary will be acted upon.”

People are not even allowed to speak.

Glad you showed me this. There is a law about threatening comment. It has something to do with the context of the comment made, ie Is it a direct threat, or is it just an abusive language. I'll have to look it up and then you can message them back, telling them to fuck-off! Haha
This is all bat-shit crazy and the coppers should be ashamed of themselves.

I spent (wasted) a fair bit of time today on Twitter debating this topic. I don't know why I bother because it is pointless but it worries me that so many young people support the actions of the British state and the hospital in this case.

I attach a few screenshots by way of example.

Wow... you talked to someone who calls herself left wing snowflake!? Such a name kinda says it all...really not worth wasting your time on such individual.
The British state has no right to keep that poor child a prisoner. Some of the idiots that today side with the establishment will at some point in their lives understand that they are powerless against the system, but it might just be too late.

here it is seen as overwhelmingly violate their rights, they do not care about the child's condition, but leave it there maybe to charge the state what it consumes in medical supplies. I hope the baby keeps improving
