RE: Killing Dad: My Father's Day Rant
The attack on Fathers the western world over is a subset of the attack on the MALE figure.
TV commercials deliver a telling story: The male is almost ALWAYS ridiculed and women are portrayed as superior, the problem solvers, the ones that do what men couldn't. We should not buy products from companies that depict males in general as incompetent idiots and idolize the female as the answer to any and all problems.
That said, we would have to stop buying 90%+ of the products advertised.
So be it.
Yeah honestly its getting a little tiring seeing the constant commercials coming out of ridiculed men, glad I am not the only one who noticed them but of course if switched around the TV complaints go crazy, its annoying because this was never given much thought until the past few years @globocop
I thought your statement was exagerrated but I've listed most movies and TV shows targeting kids and you do have a point. The media is also attacking the whole principles of family from their end
The 'bumbling dad' gag is beginning to get old. It was funny and edgy compared to the old "Leave it to Beaver" and "Father Knows Best" and "My Three Sons". So many children are raised by their single mom, it's easy for them to relate to the 'bumbling dad' schtick. What they need so desperately is the present and involved dad. @ironshield
The incompetent dad, or the toxic patriarch are both creations of Cultural Marxism along with the "super competent" mom... The statistics, unfortunately show otherwise (not that that will ever change anything)
