WHO WILL DEFEND TOMORROW

Who will defend tomorrow?
It's not that far away.
I see it on the faces
of children who once did play.
Upon the tattered soul
or weary wanting eye,
Broken homes and broken dreams
And broken do they cry!

Who will protect the innocent
With pen and tongue to speak?
The voiceless sold in silence
The helpless hurting weak.
The plea that's deathly loud
Oh deaf - your heart must hear
The pitter patter sorrow
that pounds in every tear!

Who will stand for freedom?
Our future calls your name
In fostered stolen faces.
Oh can't you see their pain!
The wasteland that we borrow
may be our own one day.
Who will defend tomorrow
For tomorrow is today.

Every day children are stolen from families and sold in the CPS foster care system. These children are the future of the world....our tomorrow. What will be the legacy? Will we embrace apathy and turn a blind eye or will we stand for freedom, children and future that offers hope and love. Will we defend the gift of tomorrow for all to enjoy? I pray so.
