Away for the day
We are at a 90th birthday today which is serving as a family reunion of my wife's relatives. It is being held at a country house that is owned by a church group about 30 kilometres from where we live.
Since we will spend the day and most of the evening here and there was a break in the schedule, I thought I would add some pictures from the rooms and a view from the window. It is built on the edge of a ridge that drops down into a valley lake.
Although country style is not my personal style, it is beautiful here and has a lot of character to it. There is a wing of rooms next door that can accommodate maybe 30-40 people and I am guessing it is used for various group retreats.
It is nice to spend a few hours away from it all without actually being very far away.
Because there are relatives from Sweden and the US here also, the additional benefit is that I don't have to rely on my poor Finnish.

Looks like a really nice place.
It is in Kangasala and I think it would be a nice place to go back to when the Autumn colours are in full swing.

I don't mind the country style but i do prefer it more rustic then shown here. Still the photos and beautiful and I love the hardwood floors.
Send the cake, Sir. The pictures are beautiful. I like the decor and the window view of the lake is great.
Coffee and cake, of course, nothing better than leaving the routine, the place looks peaceful invites you to relax.
It's nice to go to places like that. I do not think its country more like classic. But then again it's Finland :)
It is also very nice to get together with extended family once in a while
