Love and respect are integral components of a happy family. Family members can do things together but still maintain their individuality. They may disagree with one another once in a while, but at the end of the day their bond brought about by their love and respect for one another will see them through. So what makes a happy family? Responsibility. Everyone knows his or her role in the family. Parents know their responsibilities and use their authority over their children appropriately. Children accept their duties and responsibilities as well.

Forgiveness. Members of a happy family make up after a fight. Misunderstandings may come and they may argue and express differing opinions but they always forgive and reconcile.

Sense of humor. Family members share light moments and always find something to smile or laugh about. Sense of humor is one big factor that makes a family happy. Laughing heartily together clears away any heavy feeling during a bad time.
