RE: GETTING REAL - FATHERLESS HOMES... AND HOMES WITH LESS FATHER

in #family6 years ago

I would argue it's really more of a want.. growing up my father was a heroin junkie.. wasn't around much.. the relationship was never one where he wasn't allowed to see me or my sister.. but he sure wasn't around... Eh, idk.. father's aren't a requirement, ask anyone being raised by lesbian mother's. ^>^ idk... Feels wrong saying a father is needed... No one "role" is so vital as community.... And anyone can fill in as life advisor, because thats what already happens. Look at children raised racist by their parents, is this father's view the only one? No, society will correct the behavior that's undesired in individuals... Despite fatherly love..

Sorry, this is no where close to what i was trying to say, nor anywhere close to truth.

I do not blame the bad boy sperm donor for being absent, i blame the mother for choosing a man that would not be there.

The abandonment issue is very real. It creates all kinds of resentment. Sometimes it creates an overachiever, other times it creates the worst in society. (no middle ground)
