Naming a baby after deceased loved ones

Forgive me if this blog is not written in the best quality. I'm still quite sick. Though I wanted to muster up some energy to write this anyway.

My oldest daughter is 29 weeks pregnant with twin girls. They are due in late September but she is scheduled to be induced in early September. My daughter and son-in-law have decided on names. They are naming one of the girls Caitlin.

Caitlin was the name of my son-in-law's sister who passed away from cystic fibrosis several years ago. They want to honour her by doing this.

Unfortunately they have gotten flack for wanting to name one of their girls Caitlin. One of my daughter's former friends told her that there are other ways to honour deceased loved ones.

What's wrong with Caitlin? They have been told that no one names their babies after Caitlyn Jenner, regardless of spelling. I think that is utterly ridiculous. Besides it's no one's business and right to pass judgment.

They didn't experience hyperemesis gravidarum, and the restrictions like my daughter has. My son-in-law has been effected by all of this too. They aren't having to go through the frequent appointments and ultrasounds. They aren't going to be in labour. They aren't giving birth to these twins. Finally, they aren't going to be these girls' parents. These are my daughter's and son-in-law's babies. They have every right to name them what they choose.
