WITHOUT FATHER

I can’t hear about war, missiles, termination of contracts, etc. I remembered another story that concerns our family.

My mom had eight brothers and sisters. During World War II, Uncle Kolya was in the Far East, Uncle Arkady fought in Belarus. Uncle Vanya is disabled since childhood, so he did not fight, Uncle Fedot participated in the hostilities and died.

Uncle Fedot before the army met with some woman. Apparently, I wanted to get married, but I did not have time. Relatives helped with money. The girl was called, it seems, Natasha. She is a little older than me. And I was 16-17 years old.

Her older sister Aunt Nyura called mom. She said that this Natasha came to visit them. Relatives took her as their own, gave gifts. Aunt Nyura asked to gently meet the girl. It was possible not to ask, mom is a hospitable person, during the war our mother’s niece and sister lived in our family.

Natasha arrives. We met, she lived a short time, three or four days. Unfortunately, I do not remember what she said about her mother. Then she began to prepare for departure. Mom gave her something substantial, a blanket, it seems. They conducted Natasha, it turned out that my nylon stockings had disappeared, and what a trifle. I was not sorry, but because of this, all ties with Natasha were cut off. If we talk, then do not ask about the missing things can not. Asking is inconvenient.

But there would be a father alive, this probably was not. Would buy this little thing, and indeed the father is the father, protection and demand.

Then everyone lived very modestly, and Natasha's mother, probably, was in trouble very much, since the girl had coveted such trifle.

Fascist aircraft did not fly over our Siberia. Do not crawl along the roads tanks. But the war did not bypass the parental home.
