Sukkot on the Homestead: High Mountain, High Sabbath

We woke up to a cold morning...

It was one of those mornings that makes your nose cold. We bundled up and started the campfire and fired up the camp stove for coffee and tea.

After breakfast, we walk to the other camp.

On the property next door, there is another Sukkot campground with some campers we know from previous years. We walk a ways over to the camp and the children were delighted to see a SANDBOX for them to play at.

The day had warmed up quickly and we were already shedding our morning jackets.

The Meeting Hall

Our last stay was in 2018 and this structure was just a foundation and walls with no roof. This year, the project is finished and looks GREAT!

Lots of windows!

Orientation

The Sukkot week begins today and most of the campers have arrived. Zac gave an overview of some camp rules for the families staying on the property. We introduced ourselves, family by family.

The girls entertained themselves with coloring pages from their folders.

Bible Study

After being dismissed for lunch, we returned to the hall for Bible Study. People would volunteer to read ten verses, then the room was open for commentary and thoughts.

This was our first day holy convocation... practice anyway.

Back to Camp for Dinner

After being dismissed, we visited with other families and returned to camp. The table was all set for our Sabbath evening dinner.

We had a scented candle which made our campsite very inviting this year.

Climbing the Mountain

After dinner, the children asked if we could climb the mountain. We all climbed up the path to the peak.

Finding "Goodly Boughs"

As a part of Sukkot, we find good branches to decorate our Sukkah. My son helps me find some cedar branches.

It was getting dark, so we only found a few. I also unknowingly touched some poison ivy, I would later discover.

Campfires

It was a fun day, finished up with some roasted marshmallows

We put blinding bright headlamps on our children.

Another Fun Day on the Homestead

It was a great way to spend the first day of Sukkot. I plan on continuing this series all the way to the end.

Teach Your Children Liberty from Sin

We encourage parents to teach their children principles of Godliness, beginning with the Word and an understanding who God is and what His Son has done to form a relationship with us.

No one can lay a foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or straw, his workmanship will be evident, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will prove the quality of each man’s work. 1 Corinthians 3:11-13

Second to this is the principle of self-determination and freedom, lest we loose the ability to teach our children the first principle in future generations. Our children read the Tuttle Twin books, specifically to learn libertarian principles, which most people learn later in life. These books are useful for our family, and yours, to teach children concepts that seem complicated, but are made simple in these books.

When a leftist rag rips apart a book, you KNOW it's good.

The Tuttle Twins series is among the most wretchedly contrived, grotesquely unethically indoctrinating, cliché-ridden heaps of steaming garbage I’ve ever had the misfortune to read. Written to bring young people into one of the most disgraceful political tendencies in the world before they have the critical thinking skills to recognize it, it is a hideous fraud and an ugly twisted farce.

No better endorsement than that! Use the coupon code CURRENTAFFAIRS for a WHOPPING 50% off your purchase! Check them out here.
