Love or adventure
My first days in Yekaterinburg, Russia were passing peacefully, slowly. I was bored. I remember at the construction site we had a canteen and one of the cooks spoke Serbian. My colleague told me that her name was Shoger and she was Armenian, but she spoke quite well Serbian. I learned that her husband Tihomir is a Serb and that they are 15 years in marriage. They spent the last six years in Sebia and she learned language well. He also worked in our company in Russia. On one occasion she talked with the warehouse keeper and she complained about her life in Russia. She claimed that she tried to persuade her husband not to accept a job in Russia. She wanted to stay in Serbia. They had their own house there and they were both employed. They did not make much money but lived without stress.
They had 2 daughters and they had been with her parents in Armenia since they started school. They knew Russian and Armenian language. She said that her older daughter wanted to study the Serbian language. Tihomir was a locksmith, they considered him a good at that job. The problem was his behavior. He once told his colleagues in drunken state insulting words about the supervisor of our company. Someone toldsupervisor about it and he did not like it. When Tihomir asked to go on vacation, supervisor approved his vacation. He traveled to Serbia, and Soger remained in Russia. After two weeks, he asked to which date he should buy the airline ticket to come back. The secretary replied that he isnt be coming back. Supervisor estimated that he would no longer be needed.
One of our engineers used Tihomir's absence and started a romance with Shoger. After losing his job, Tihomir wanted Soger to return to Serbia. She did not want to. Supervisor found out about all this and did not like it. It turned out that by firing Tihomir he broke one family. If he knew what would happen, he would have acted differently. Wishing to help Tihomir he fired Shoger too hoping she would return to Serbia to her husband.
The engineer with whom she started the relationship reacted to it. He got angry with supervisor and their dispute had to be solved byDirector of company.
Director of companytold the supervisor that his first decision was correct and professional. The second decision was considered wrong. In the end, she continued to work.
Tihomir traveled to Yekaterinburg and was persuading Soger to go with him, but she did not want to. Our company finished the work. Soger traveled to different city in Russia with her lover where they began working in other company. She told her colleagues that she does not wish return to Serbia to be with Tihomir. She wants to bring her daughters to Russia and help them get used to new surroundings. She said she knew that our engineer was married and that there was no perspective with him. She also argued that she did not want anything long-term with someone 20 years older than her.
A few years later, we learned that Shoger failed to bring her daughters to Russia. She did not had the money for that. Instead of Serbian, their older daughter studied Russian. Tihomir lived in Serbia alone. He rarely communicated with children.
