gramma comments on raising kids

in #family8 years ago

This is my perspective after having raised 4 kids and 1 grandchild.
I quote Stefan Molyneux who had an avid discussion on podcast regarding intelligence and success. I fully agree with the conclusion that, in order for an intelligent person to be successful, they must learn to do boring things over and over again. If you child is very intelligent, rather than focus on a fast paced parade of mental stimulation that competes with Disney World, itself, perhaps your child will experience a greater success and more happiness in their adult life if the boring habits of life are developed into an internal discipline. It is good to know how to sit patiently waiting for something. It is good to have fewer toys and more standing next to a parent while they do a task. Which is really going to benefit a child who becomes an adult? Saturday cheer leading or football camp ..or...family housework and project day?
