Fake news and steemit

As we all know our masters in the physical world are getting upset. About so called fake news. As far as I remember most of the statements politicians make are also fake. But that is besides the point.

For now the discussion is also pointed on taking down fake news on traditional platforms like facebook or good old blog platforms. It seems to me Steemit will become interesting after they will take down the more traditional online media. Although there is some randomness in Steemit when it comes to voting news down by the powerfull.

I am not a fan on fake news. But it should be free to spread it on the web. And at the end. Why should the news of the spin-doctors of politicians be more real?
