In today’s generation where time goes by truly fast many of us do our best to make the most of every opportunity that comes our way. We always prioritize and focuses on what we think are more important in life. We strive hard to be productive in order to enjoy what we consider beneficial for us. We spend much time in acquiring the proper knowledge and wisdom to prepare for a brighter future, but there is more important than what we may gain
on this earth-something that we should give utmost priority and time too.

Spiritual or Material things?

These question always cross my mind. Many people in different countries don’t value religions, faith and worst they don’t believe in God. Many of us believes that faith alone is enough to be saved, but is this really a biblical teaching? Further proof that faith alone is not enough to be saved is the biblical teaching that faith without work is dead.

“So Faith by itself, if it has no work, is dead” (James 2:17, New Revised Standard Version).

If they would only examine the Holy Scriptures, they would learn that through spiritual is extremely important and absolutely necessary.

The truth is we can overcome life’s problem through faith and prayer’s. However, many find it hard in prioritizing to worship God over their work, career, or study, thinking that they would stand to lose if they give God first place in their lives. Thus, material or worldly pursuits are still their main purpose of living.

But what is the great advantage if one always worships God and receives his teachings?

His words will not only help us overcome the difficulties of life but it will also help us progress.

Is all worship acceptable? Who are the true worshipers?

The Holy Scriptures answers us, anyone wants to be certain that his service and worship are acceptable to God; He must be inside the true church. Hence, it is imperative to join the Church of Christ. Our Lord Jesus Christ guarantees that those who do so will be saved. (John 10:9, 16 REB)

Your silver and gold will not save you on that day of the Lord’s anger. For the whole land will be devoured by the fire of His jealousy He will make a terrifying end of all the people on earth. (Zephaniah 1:18) New Living Translation

I wrote this article because I want to enlighten people’s mind and heart for not only focusing on the material things that we have, we need also to work on our spiritually side because what we have today is only temporary. So when the time comes we will reap the fruits of our hard work and reach the eternal life.
