Christian agape: If I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 1 Corinthians 13:2

The Church of Corinth, which was founded by Paul, was one of the christian communities most loved by the apostle since he remained there for more than a year during his second missionary journey. Concerned about the problems that afflicted this community, he sent them two letters. And in the first letter to this Greek community, he taught about the importance of the spiritual gifts and in particular about the gift of love.
And this teaching about love always has to be taken into account in the context of the teachings of Jesus about the doctrine of the kingdom of God, the dominion or empire of God's perfections, because love is also a gender. When referring to love, Jesus always spoke of agape, which is the spiritual love, the love perfected by the nature of the good. The disciples received this love at Pentecost as a charism, a gift of the Holy Spirit; and so with this form of love, the commandment of Jesus is fulfilled, which is the commandment of the excellence: "Love your neighbor as yourself" Mark 12:31.
According to Paul's thought, faith is infallibly linked to a righteous life ("Do to others what you would have them do to you" Matthew 7:12) because it is in this way that men converted to faith receive the promises of the spirit, among which is the spiritual love. The Agape love is ultimately the result of a path, a progressive and gradual path, because love as such can only be received when the person is prepared.
It is for all this that Paul wrote in this way about this love that defines the maturity of the christian in his epistle:
"If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing" 1 Corinthians 13:1-2.
