My latest edition to my settee , sorry for the swear word !

I would like to think that to unicorns roam a wild forest undisturbed were man can not get to them ..... well I can dream anyway here are some facts about unicorns.

Ancient Greeks believed unicorns came from India , even Aristotle wrote about them.

The myth of unicorns may have come from ancient carvings , bulls or goats were seen from a side view thus having one horn.

Drinking from the horn of a unicorn ( know as a alicorn ) is said to have healing properties , wearing a unicorn belt was said to protect you from plague and fever and wearing shoes made from a unicorn lured diseases away from the feet !

Unicorns can cleanse water as first mentioned in the Physiologus - a didactic Christian text in 14th century- " But before they are gathered, the snake comes and throws his poison in the water. So many animals notice the poison and dare not to drink, and they expect the unicorn. It comes and it goes immediately to the lake, with its horn making the sign of the cross, it makes the poison harmless. All other animals drink then ".

Owning a unicorn horn is meant to be the most prized possession that a king can own ....

Do not be afraid of unicorns there do seek to do good and no ill will , however the are afraid of Labradors !! But if your a liar there will stab you through the heart with there horn, nice ....

In London up till 1741 powdered unicorn horn was sold in chemists , but it was really Narwhal whale horn which is just as bad !!!

To catch a unicorn you should do this - get a virgin , she should show her bosom , thus the unicorn will nestle down, even Da Vinci agreed this would work.

The last known sighting of a unicorn was here in the UK in 2014 during the August supermoon.

Unicorns are herbivorous , there eat what normal horses eat.

The unicorn is Scotland's national animal , so there must be real : )
