The special unit that killed Osama bin Laden is called the "SEAL Team Six", although it is the third SEAL unit established (not the sixth). The name was chosen to confuse Soviet intelligence.

(Technically the name changed to something boring in 1987, but the previous name is still widely used.)

The Hachiko dog is a national hero of Japan.

Hachiko accompanied his owner, a professor of agriculture, to the train station every morning and returned to the station in the afternoon to meet him on his way home. One day the professor did not come home; he died suddenly while he was at work.

For the next ten years, the faithful Hachiko continued to arrive every morning and afternoon at the train station, just as the professor's train arrived.

The whole of Japan was moved by the loyalty of the Achiko and established in his memory a statue that stands to this day at the entrance to the train station.

After his death, Hachiko himself was stuffed and today he is exhibited at the National Museum of Science in Tokyo.

At many weddings in India, the husband wears a ring on the bride's foot rather than on her hand.

Then the ring on the foot indicates that the woman is married, just like a ring on the west hand. (More specifically, Indian women wear two rings, one on each foot.)
