Next to the idea of finding credible news by users, Facebook came up with an idea of providing 🔝 quality of “ journalistic press “ shown on min users News Feed section.
Mark Zuckerberg, CEO has recently written on his private Facebook profile:
“Our next update on our 2018 focus to make sure Facebook isn't just fun but also good for your well-being and for society...
We're making a series of updates to show more high quality, trusted news. Last week we made an update to show more news from sources that are broadly trusted across our community. Today our next update is to promote news from local sources.”

How does this feature change local users ?
It drastically increases local News appearance and by liking or rating them, users can make those local websites grow fast, so they mean something in bigger scale.
This keeps people on Facebook less aware of what's going onOutsideLocal news
No, thanks to the size of huge fan pages, it is impossible to disappear under the portion of news from local news. :)
